A Matabungkay beach resort with a combination of continental menu, with native Filipino structures and motiff. They have a full bar, and large screen TV set mostly to sports channels in one of the dining areas, which all have views of the China sea. They have modern comforts in the rooms one would need, such as air conditioning, hot showers in all rooms, room safes and they have wireless satellite internet to get your e-mail with for a small hourly fee. Swim in the pool or the sea, both are just steps away. Service is friendly and the food is wholesome and tasty, with a variety of native Filipino, European, American and Italian food choices as well. Although we stay mostly at Al Fresco, we walk down the beach strand about 45 feet away to Coral Beach Club to use their internet to check E-mail, chat with the Intercontinental clientele, eat meals and chat up resort magager Mike Hudson, who lives on the premises with his Filipina wife and son and daughter. The resort is family friendly with a variety of areas for children to play in.

Dive Solana Resort - Not just for scuba divers.
For a high end, but unpretentious hide away try
Solana Bezo Resort at the far end of Anilao, Batangas past Eagle Point. Not for the budget traveler! You can get there in about 3 hours from Manila by car. Don’t give up hope after passing most of the resorts,
Dive Sloana Bezo resort is way past all of the other resorts. Just when you think you have gone too far, on the right side of the road you will see a sign that you have arrived. If you get to a resort, which is right next to it called El Pinoy, you’ve gone one driveway too far. It’s a steep climb, but those in the know, actually park one driveway BEFORE Solana, which has been granted easment for Solana Customers. It’s a much less steep climb back up the steep jungle hill to take this approach. Unless you like steep stairs of course.
If getting pampered, privacy and lazing about is what you want, with the best of Filipino flavor, Solana is for you! For the scuba divers, they have award winning scuba diving areas nearby, and all the gear your need!
There isn't much of a sandy beach but the areas around Solana are world class diving spots. The prices include 3 full buffet meals per day, plus a late afternoon snack on shore or on a native boat for a sunset cruise around the bay, all the coffee, tea and juices you want, day and night! The staff are very friendly and have been trained by the Intercontinental Hotel in Manila. The rooms are clean and comfortable, furnished with native crafts, materials, and embroidered bedspreads. All rooms have air conditioning and an on demand hot water. For me, Solana gets high marks since I do like to get pampered! The resort is operated Bea Zobel,Jr. and her partner Joel Uichicho. Joel operates the resort as it's General Manager and Bea Jr., did all the decorating using local artists and native crafts. They are fabulous hosts!! Check out their website at

Dalampasigan Restaurant -A great native Filipino restaurant off the beaten path in Nasugbu. It’s so unexpected; a tropical dining oasis in Nasugbu, Batangas.
Inside Dalampasigan there are waterfalls flowing over rocks with tropical flowers, ferns and vines whose roots trail down into the room, walking through them has a true tropical “jungle” feeling! Large white flowers trail down from the ceiling and are so beautiful. The entrance the car port is also filled with the long trailing, but soft vines. A very unusual place. There are grottos spread around the property, large aviary’s for cockatoos on the private family side. (if you ask nicely, they may let you view them)
If you like native Filipino food, appreciate nature and are in the area, it’s well worth going a little out of the way for.
